Personal Standings Towards One Another

From: Arsia Elkin
Sent: 2018.07.16 06:08
To: Qymm Phyton

Good Day, Director Phyton,

I have set my personal standings towards you at the same level at which you set me.

However, due to the nature of the Pandemic Horde alliance, if I happen to encounter you on grid in null or low security space with no prior communication I will assume you hostile and you should assume the same of me. I feel I am duty bound to inform you of this stance. If my assessment of our relationship is wrong, please correct me.

Bear in mind, I harbor no ill will towards you personally, but your organization is infamous for aggression and piracy around all of New Eden and I feel it would be unwise for me to let my guard down for even one moment.

Perhaps one day, you will see the Light of Amarr, come into the fold of the Empire, and focus your aggression on those who are like you once were, but until that day comes, Ms. Python, we will not see eye to eye on a great many issues.

With all that covered, feel free to contact me with any questions at any point. Perhaps there may sometimes be mutual goals that we can work towards together or perhaps you have questions about the Faith. Whatever the reason, I am always all ears for a capsuleer such as yourself.

Faithfully Yours,

Commander Arsia Elkin
Praetoria Imperialis Excubitoris

Hello Pilot Elkin,

Thank you for your communication. I feel that on this issue, we are of the same mind. I may serve at the pleasure of Admiral Goberius, and those under the wing of Pandemic Horde, but I hold no personal ill will towards many other capsuleers. Even in practice, I am a career logistics pilot, rarely ever finding myself firing a turret rather than transmitting shields.

I understand your position, and I respect it. In my point-of-view, it is no different than a position of self-defense. I have no doubt that in a different life, outside of the shackling freedom of New Eden, we might have even been friends.

Yours as well,

Yoiul Festivities

To: Arsia Elkin,

A video file is attached. Upon activation, Qymm is visible, sitting with her feet up in what looks like her quarters. She is wearing a comfortable looking shirt celebrating last year's festival, her face covered with a shimmering blue nanocoating forming an intricate design. It's beautiful, yet almost garrish. In one hand, an amber, slightly glowing, cocktail, half full. Sounds of a party, music and dozens of people, echo through an open doorway, from down the hall.

Hey! Hey... um. I don't... I'm not even really sure if your codes or regulations or... whatever prevent you from even accepting gifts or using this thing, but--

Qymm is slightly slurring her words.

I wanted to wish you a happy Yoiul Festival. It's a big deal out here in null sec; we have a lot of festival events and gift gifting happening and... Well like honestly, I saw it up on the market, and it just so needed to be a gift to you. It's just so... she cracks up a bit, laughing so... Amarrian. You had to have it.

Realizing she's been rambling, she straightens up a bit in her chair. She tucks some of her hair over her ear and looks at her invisible watch.

Anyway, I should get back to... y'know... ahem... I just thought, um... she puts on a tone seemingly meant for public address, or for less familiar company I wish you well in the new year, from one capsuleer to another. May our paths never cross, Commander.

She quickly taps some buttons on a datapad, and the following notification appears alongside this message.

Oracle Yoiul Festival YC121 SKIN (Permanent) (Item Exchange)

She pauses for a moment, winks, then chuckling to herself nervously, switches off the recording. A prerecorded sign-off plays, depicting a yellow squid-like mascot riding a toy hovercycle, with the alliance name, 'Pandemic Horde.'

To: Qymm Phyton,

A video is attached to the response mail as well. The video opens with Arsia walking among dozens of various types of trees in what is likely a botanical garden. Tall buildings are visible in the background. She is wearing a long, dark red long-sleeved dress with gold accents that go down the sides. She holds a datapad in her right hand, clutched to her chest, and a stylus in her left. The camera drone follows her from the left side as she walks, her head slightly turned to face the camera.

"Director Phyton, I want to begin by thanking you for the gift. The skin you contracted to me is one that is allowed by the Praetoria, so I have humbly accepted it. As I hadn't expected a gift from you, I had nothing prepared in return. I do however have an idea to rectify that."

She stops walking and fully faces the camera.

"This is my family's estate. This garden spans roughly 50 acres of land in Dam-Torsad, and now...." She gives a bit of a smirk. "you've earned yourself free access. This includes access to the garden during a little event I'm throwing after the New Year comes. Although I suppose I'll have to send you an official invitation after I finalize the guest list." She shrugs. "These gardens have been a source of support for me throughout my whole life, as I really wasn't able to get out much as a child, so they have a special place in my heart. I hope you can stop by for a visit the next time you're in the Throne Worlds.

Her smirk fades into a slightly warmer smile.

"So, Director, Phyton, thank you again and have a very happy Yoiul Festival."

She gives a slight bow and the video ends abruptly.

EVE Art - A Journey.

From: Kamiti Arcamer

To: Corrin Mor, El Geo, Qymm Phyton, Razorien, Rixx Javix,

Good Day Pilots,

I hope this mail finds you well.

My name is Kamiti Arcamer, I am a pilot with Signal Cartel, and artist at heart.

As you well know, New Eden is a violent place. A place filled with destruction and often deceit. However it is also a beautiful place, filled with those that create and there are often messages of hope and great beauty to be found in what is created.

It has been mentioned that you are some of the more prominent artists in EVE, and it is with that in mind that I would like a moment of your time, your talent and your knowledge to assist me in a project I am working on for Signal Cartel.

I am looking to create a TripTik for our Corp, a public collection of bookmarks, which aims to travel to locations important to the arts and artists of New Eden, Capusleer or otherwise. Places such as the Algintal Complex in Colelie, or the system of Luminaire, places that might hold value to yourselves as artists of New Eden.

If you could kindly take a moment to answer some or all of the below questions, that would be greatly appreciated.

1 - Where could one find a collection of your personal works? An image gallery or website of your own personal works.
2 - Which System your capsuleers were born in or call home? An in game system you could imagine your capsuleers exhibiting their works at perhaps?
3 - What your medium of choice is, in-character or in real life?
4 - What is an event or sight or ship in New Eden that you find particularly memorable or inspiring with regards to your art?
5 - is there an out of game way to contact you, if preferred, for follow up discussions?

I hope to hear from you all soon, and look forward to seeing your works.

Regards, - Kamiti

To: Kamiti Arcamer,

Greetings Ms. Arcamer,

I appreciate that you've taken the time to send me a message. My work is something I either do out of necessity for the alliance, or only for myself in the case of my travel photography, so I'm surprised at the attention. Happy surprise.

1 - My photography can be found on FLICKR, a slightly antiquated but perfectly servicable data host optimized for high-fidelity photography. Call me old fashioned, I still preserve most of my work in 2D still image data format. Some I've even had framed on paper. You can find a permanent link here: http://www.qymm.space. As for the rest of my so-called work, they're merely infographics made in service of guiding our ever expanding number of newly enlisted pilots. I'd be embarrassed to consider those art.

2 - R1O-GN is where I currently make my home, in the center of The Kalevala Expanse, home to Pandemic Horde and the Panfam Coalition. There exists a virtual gallery of my work on the alliance intranet, and I never meant for it to be any more than that. As a newly enlisted member, I felt like a hobby while on long fleet form-ups would be good for me, and that's evolved somewhat. Now as alliance director, I find my photography adds an amount of humanity and authenticity to how my members perceive me. Or perhaps that's just my hope.

In terms of landmarks, I'm afraid I am not as well traveled as you might think. I do remember taking a trip in my early days in Horde to see the site of Titanomachy, such a twisted wreck of a gravesite as it was. We also stopped by the capsuleer graveyard along the way, as I felt it was valuable. Gosh, why did I plan such a depressing outing...

Come to think of it, I do have some rented hangars in Ansila system that I use to store some of my old memorabilia. Oh you know, old warships, filled with mothballs, so to speak. Maybe I'd open a gallery... do you think people would go?

3 - I "shoot" on my camera drones! In fact I've long since equipped most of my regular ships with a stack of these... uh... CreoDron makes them. Wide-angle, strong impulse thrusters, they really help me capture the right moments. Never have to "go potato mode," as the line members say. Sometimes, the drones hiccup a tad, and for a brief second the feed just stops. Capturing a large amount of data, you see. Means I can't really snap away while in combat. Afterwards, it's just a matter of doing some light color-correction, maybe a crop or an image touch-up before I upload to the intranet.

You know, sometimes I go in and edit out whole ships. You know, the ones that are off anchor, just boating off completely in the wrong place. It could send a bad image of our military tactics, you see. Those Goons will make a story out of anything.

4 - Maybe not my best work, but the most memorable shot I ever took was while I was on grid during the siege of the X47L-Q keepstar in YC120. I was sitting in a stealth bomber handed to me off of the line, newly fitted, new car smell, 4000km above the Keep. The mass of Titans below me on grid, with the phenomena generators and EM interference absolutely frying my perception electronics. I thought my cloak was failing, how poor my readouts were. But I managed to swing a camera into position as the Imperium fleet focused their doomsdays and fired on a Northern Coalition titan, and I captured its demise. It cemented in my mind my goal to capture this grotesque beauty that few get to fully appreciate about the violence we live through.

5 - If you prefer to speak offline, you can find me on DISCORD. We most likely share a connection via EVE Creative. My personal key there is Qymm#7061.

I really appreciate your correspondence. Fly free.

Hello Ms. Arcamer. Gentlemen,

I'm flattered to be included in this mailing, as I've heard most of your names before making your acquaintance. Charmed. Overwhelmed, even, I don't find that my itchy triggerfinger hobby belongs alongside such dedicated artists. My life managing Pandemic Horde and its current war efforts is far too busy, and I can only be in a handful of places at once, it's a wonder I manage to find time to upload any new photographs at all. And my infographics may be useful, but I would not deign to call them art. Shudder to think a set of instructions on how to operate a cynosural field meant for absolute rookies be considered art.

I've included some extra detail in a message sent solely to Arcamer, but I won't bore you gentlemen with my spinning of yarn. However, I extend the invitation to privately message me or ping me on the EVE Creatives DISCORD to any of you.
